When the universe speaks, listen.

This quote from Oprah is so true, and it applies to so many facets of our lives. Like Oprah, I've learned that when you don't listen to that little voice or to the universe (when things happen), unhandled little issues turn into bigger problems. Every. Single. Time. It's true whether you're talking about your health, your job, your relationship, your children, your car - just EVERYTHING.

As my mother says, "a hard head makes a soft ass." Not sure what that means? Here's the meaning taken from Urban Dictionary.

Of Southern American origin. Refers to the fact that a person that does not listen to reason is going to have a tough life. Often a person that insists on making their own mistakes rather than listen to sage advice will hear this phrase. In other words a young inexperienced person that keeps making stupid mistakes will take a lot of beatings. 

In life, you have to learn to listen to the whispers and pebbles and avoid the bricks.
