Don't look too hard at this pic - you'll probably see crumbs of some kind.
PC's are much like cars - you have to do preventative maintenance on them if you want them to work correctly and last longer.
One of the most important things you can do for your PC is to run spyware and malware scans on it. This is just as important as virus software.
I'm frugal, so I like free. It is not necessary to pay for spyware & malware software, just like it's not necessary to pay for virus software. There are free programs that are very good.
To delete your temp files, clean up registry entries, and delete startup items, I recommend CCleaner. It used to be called Crap Cleaner, but they got all politically correct awhile back. The free version is what I have used for years, and it is sufficient for the average user. You can download it directly from Piriform, the company that makes it, right here.
To scan and remove spyware and malware, I recommend Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. You can scan and remove a host of bad things that are slowing your PC down and causing lockups and page redirects. You can download it directly from the maker right here.
Both programs are very easy to use. I recommend scanning your PC monthly with both programs.
